I am a former German ski jumper and have been able to fulfil numerous dreams over the course of my career. I started ski jumping at the age of five and began my international career in 2007 with competing in the World Cup for the first time.
After celebrating my first World Cup victory in 2011, numerous medals and successes followed in the years that followed. My personal highlights include the 2014 Olympic victory with the team in Sochi and winning the overall World Cup in 2014/2015.
However, several injuries, including two ACL ruptures in 2017, have also shaped my career. It was all the more satisfying for me to have fought on after numerous injuries and to become World Champion and Vice Ski World Champion in the team once again in 2021 and 2022. I ended my career in March 2022 after 15 years in the World Cup, 22 individual World Cup victories and 10 World Championship medals.
During my sporting career, I successfully completed a degree in ‘International Management’ at Ansbach University of Applied Sciences.
I have been living with a diagnosis of epilepsy since 2004 and am very happy and grateful to nevertheless have been able to realise my dreams.
I now live with my family near Landshut and look forward to staying connected to ski jumping as a ski jumping expert for ZDF and sharing my experience and expertise with viewers in front of the camera. I share my personal journey in competitive sport and the experiences I have gained from it in speeches on various topics.
